Independently Tested
Clean air delivery rate
Clorox premium air purifiers with True HEPA filters undergo rigorous testing by independent third parties to ensure that our appliances meet or exceed key benchmarks, such as the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) for tobacco smoke, pollen and dust. The CADR indicates the volume of filtered air, measured in Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM). A higher CADR indicates greater effectiveness at removing contaminants from the air. For instance, the Clorox Large Room Air Purifier has a Pollen CADR of 232 cubic feet per minute, which means that, when operated on the highest fan speed, it can produce 232 cubic feet of purified air in one minute.
Air changes an hour
Our air purifiers are also tested for Air Changes per Hour (ACH)—the number of times in one hour that the air in a room is “exchanged” for new, fresher air. The standard ACH score is 5 (five air changes per hour), and room size can influence this rating. Here’s an example of how this works: The Clorox Large Room Air Purifier is recommended for use in a room that is 320 square feet. When used in a room of this size, the air in that room will be exchanged five times in an hour. If used in a smaller room, the ACH will increase. If used in a larger room, the ACH will decrease.
Reduces viruses and bacteria*
Air purifiers are commonly tested for their ability to reduce the concentration of viruses and bacteria in the air. Clorox air purifiers with True HEPA filters effectively capture viruses and bacteria from the air that passes through the filter.
